Mrs. Melodee McBride
Before becoming a dyslexia teacher I taught for years as an English teacher at Pearland High School. This experience along with what I've learned in training and working with dyslexics enables me to have a unique perspective on helping dyslexic students to succeed.
This is the fifth year that I have had the pleasure of being the Coach for the Speech and Debate Team here at Pearland High School. We are a diverse group that include students from 9th through 12th grade. We attend tournaments many weekends and practice frequently after school.
I find real joy in learning and want to share my passion for knowledge with the bright inquisitive minds of children. My enthusiasm for education and my love of teaching children is contagious and the kids that I work with will catch the enlightenment "bug". I believe that all children can be successful and will do my best to find the learning style(s) that will support success in each of my students.
I am a native Texan. I was born in North Texas and moved to this area about 14 years ago. My husband and I live in Pearland with our two cats. We have four adult children and three grandchildren. Two of our grandchildren attend Pearland schools. When I'm not in school I enjoy scuba diving with my husband and swimming with my grandchildren.
