Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelors of Science in Education with EC-6th Interdisciplinary Studies Certification
I want to welcome you to Rogers Middle School and the 5th grade! My name is Mrs. Hill. I wanted to tell you a little about myself since your child and I will be spending so much time together this year. I will be your child’s Math teacher. I am a Pearland native, graduate from PISD, and I am honored I get to give back to my community that I love so much! This is my 8th year at Rogers. I spent my first year here as an intern through the University of Houston – Clear Lake and graduated with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with an EC-6 Generalist Certification. I was fortunate to receive an opportunity to continue teaching at Rogers as a part of the faculty after that intern year. Now, I am a student with Lamar University attaining my Masters of Education in Teacher Leadership; I will graduate this May!
In addition to teaching, I also enjoy traveling, reading, taking pictures, painting, and spending time with my family and friends. I also have a fur-baby named Bruce Wayne, whom my husband and I love very much.
I am excited to teach your child Math this year! I love Math and believe that involving hands-on experiences, group work, and activities are ways to have fun and enhance learning in that subject.
My goal for your child this year is for them to succeed in all areas of school and to become compassionate and responsible young men and women. I believe that every child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. I have many responsibilities as your child’s teacher, but one of the main duties is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside him/her to maximize it. I am looking forward to interacting with both you and your child this school year. I want to work as a team to ensure that your child not only excels in Math, but also becomes an independent, lifelong learner.
I believe that people make time for things that are important to them, and I pride myself on being available to you and your child. If you need anything throughout this year or have a question please feel free to contact me. Parent conferences will be held from 11:40 AM- 12:20 PM on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Please schedule your conference at least 24 hours in advance. Please be aware that the beginning of the school year is a very busy time for conferences. There may be a delay from when you request the conference and when it is actually scheduled. Please allow 24 hours for me to respond.
This is going to be an awesome year for us all!
