Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Alicia Hollon
Hello! Welcome to my class webpage.
I am very excited to be teaching 3rd grade Math, Science, and Social Studies here at Challenger Elementary! I am thrilled to be your teacher and am looking forward to a year filled with learning, fun, and many adventures. Let me tell you a little bit about myself...
I was born and raised in the great state of Texas and have been a Pearland resident for a little over 2 years now. This is my 3rd year teaching 3rd grade here at Challenger Elementary; I have been an elementary educator for more than 5 years. In addition, I earned my master's degree in Teacher Leadership in May of 2016 and am eager to use some of the skills I acquired in our classroom this year. I have three children (Matt-20, Bo-15, and Kaylee-10), a special cat named "Tom Cat," a sweet puppy named "Nyla," and a cool turtle named "Rafael" who may visit our classroom soon!
There is so much that I am looking forward to this year! Third grade is such an exciting time and there are many new skills you will be learning, such as cursive and multiplication. One of my favorite subjects to teach is Math and we will also be doing many fun Science projects as well! The focus on Math instruction will highly emphasize problem solving; which we will consistently practice in class daily. It is my goal to help all of my students enjoy their time here and become successful, life-long learners. I truly believe that TOGETHER, we CAN make a difference!
