6th grade Language Arts / Social Studies

Welcome to my website for my class at Sablatura Middle School.  I teach 6th grade Social Studies / Language Arts for TEAM LSU, Grizzlies that have the "Eye of the Tiger!" This website will give you valuable resources to assist you in my classroom, as well as give you information on grading, tutorials and my conference times.  The tab for class calendar will update for important days when major grades are being taken.  There is also a tab for QUICK LINKS which lists websites to review Social Studies content (as well as other content areas) such as games, videos, and other links.  We have many exciting things coming soon with edmodo, remind101, and our online textbook, so be sure to check back on my page often to keep up!

    November 13th - November 17th

(Thanksgiving Break is a week away!)

This week in SOCIAL STUDIES we are studying the Caribbean Islands and Central American countries.  These are important areas and influences to people in both North America and South America.  Many students know someone or have relatives who live or lived in one of these areas.  We are creating a brochure over one of these countries to present to the class as well this week (for a major grade!).  We started on this project on Friday and it is due THIS THURSDAY (16th) because we all will view the brochures on FRIDAY!

In LANGUAGE ARTS the students are finishing their personal narrative stories.  The final copy will be a major grade for Language Arts, while each piece will be considered daily grades.  We are working on using different adjectives in class as well to let the reader understand what we saw, felt, heard, or experienced in our stories.

Please let me know if you have any questions or do not understand something your student is working on in my class.  Thank you.
