A Message from the Administrator

Changing the future of our students is the major impact of the Pearland Independent School’s Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP), otherwise known as the Alternative Learning Academy. We want each student to become a success and know that even with an undesirable past, the future can change. Our school and teachers are dedicated to providing the opportunity for students to change their behavior and learn in an academically challenging setting.

Our program is designed to meet three goals with the students.

  1. Provide an alternative educational process for students who have committed persistent or serious violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
  2. To meet the academic needs of students assigned.
  3. To work toward changing student attitudes and behavior toward a more positive experience.

This Disciplinary Alternative Education Program has been developed to provide campus administrators with an option for students who are determined to be in violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Therefore, it is important that you and your child be very familiar with the district’s policies concerning behavior.

As parents and school staff, we can work together to foster a positive, structured environment to get your child back on the right path to success.
