It makes me tired just thinking about all of that, but grateful to have the opportunity to touch the lives of so many young people.
I graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor's of Science in Technology and a degree in Industrial Distribution. I also recieved my Master's of Science degree in Occupational Education from the Univeristy of Houston.
I live in the area and have lived here for 30 years. I am in my 33rd year of marriage and have 3 sons. My husband is in his 32nd year with a chemical plant and now a plant supervisor. My oldest son is a graduate of Texas A&M Univeristy and is employed in Agricultural Management. My second son is a senior at Texas A&M Univeristy studying Geography. My third son headed off to College Station this fall and is studying Geology.
I have one horse, one dog, six chickens, a parrot and many fish. I enjoy painting, antiquing, fishing, photography and swimming. Most of my spare time is spent visiting with my very large extended family, all of which reside here in the great state of Texas. I am blessed to still have my mother, four sisters, and a brother who are all married and have a combined eleven children. Three of these nieces and nedphews are married and I have three grand nephews, one grand niece and one grand nephew on the way. I am further blessed to have my husband's family of one brother and sister and their families with two nieces living in a neighboring town.
My family has lived, ranched and farmed this part of our country since it was part of Mexico. They served in government, schools and religious institutions when Texas began as a country and still remain here today. We don't have many relatives outside of the state unless they serve(d) in the military. We still farm and ranch, but have spread our wings all over this area reaching from Dallas, to Corpus Christi, to Galveston, to San Antonio, to League City, and Houston.
I attend church and have all my life. A wonderful gift my Mother gave me was her faith. I believe that my faith is what called me to teaching young people. Before I was a teacher, I was an assistant markting director and then a sales representative for a large paper company in Houston. It is with great pleasure that I teach your child here at Glenda Dawson High School and look forward to getting to know your child and to help them learn about the exciting field of marketing and helping to prepare for careers after high school.
