Dual Language Program
In its effort to provide world-class educational opportunities, Pearland ISD has a Dual Language Program at the four elementary bilingual campuses.
During the 2017-18 school year, Carleston and Magnolia elementary schools will offer the program in bilingual kindergarten, first, second, third and fourth grade classrooms.
Cockrell and Lawhon elementary schools will offer the program in their bilingual kindergarten, first, second, and third grade classrooms.
Jamison middle school will offer the program in bilingual fifth grade classroom.
The program allows equal numbers of native English and Spanish speakers at these five campuses to learn both languages side by side in the classroom. Goals of the program include language proficiency in both English and Spanish, high academic achievement and cross-cultural understanding.
Note: The only students eligible to participate in the Dual Language Program are those zoned to Carleston, Cockrell, Lawhon and Magnolia elementary schools.
