The grades K-12 social studies program is committed to develop curricular strategies that promote students' ownership of learning so they become lifelong learners. As a result, students will be able perform at their highest potential and become contributing citizens of tomorrow.
Pearland ISD's goal for social studies instruction is to provide curriculum that prepares students for responsibilities and success in the 21st century through active participation in democratic and free enterprise systems. The curriculum is aligned to state mandates found in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

The social studies specialist works with new and veteran teachers through pre-conferencing, modeled lessons, teacher observations and debriefing.
