Margo Gigee, Director

Margo Gigee has worked in gifted education for more than 30 years. Winner of the 2007 Texas Association for Gifted and Talented Regional Advocate of the Year award, Gigee is a leader in her field and believes in high-level learning and the development of children's creativity. In addition, she believes undereducating any segment of the population is a societal tragedy. It is the responsibility of all educators to nurture students’ love of learning, set high expectations and provide an intellectually stimulating learning environment for all students.  Email

Robyn Olsen, K-4 Specialist

Robyn Olsen has worked at the elementary level throughout her career. She received her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a master’s degree in school counseling from Lamar University. While working in Goose Creek ISD, she won a campus Teacher of the Year Award. Olsen's experience ranges from UIL academics and curriculum development to assessment, vertical planning and gifted student education. As a lifelong learner, she takes every opportunity to learn and grow in her field through conferences and continued formal education. Olsen believes the key to student growth and achievement is fostering strong, collaborative relationships that focus on each child.  Email

Jenifer Hill, 5-6 Specialist

Jenifer Hill has worked in education for 17 years and with gifted and advanced learners for over ten years. She has a passion for higher-level learning and for the development of children’s creativity through differentiated curriculum and instruction. She obtained her Master’s in Education and is experienced in curriculum writing and innovative strategies. Hill’s experience ranges from curriculum development to assessment, vertical alignment, and gifted student education. Relationships are important to Jenifer, and her love for mentoring and coaching through staff development and one-on-one relationships, are the key to student growth and teacher success. Email

Damon Rayburn, 7-8 Specialist

A Pearland High School graduate, Damon Rayburn holds a master's degree in education administration from the University of Texas and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University. Rayburn began his career at Berry Miller Junior High, where he won the district Glenda Dawson First-Year Teacher Award. His experiences include promoting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through campus programs, including robotics, "First Flight" exploration and multiple community service initiatives. He believes in innovative education that trains students to find problem-solving solutions that meet the challenges of the 21st century.  Email

Corey Cogswell, 9-12 Specialist

After graduating from Rice University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Corey Cogswell transitioned directly into the teaching profession at Pearland High School.  During his last ten years in the classroom, he taught various combinations of AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and Pre-AP Precalculus, while attaining a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University and helping to coach PHS’s four-time state champion Academic Decathlon team.  He has extensive experience with curriculum development and assessment design, and as a Khan Academy Ambassador, continues his advocacy for effective technology integration into all advanced curricula, thereby preparing the students of today for the careers of tomorrow. Christina Pair, 9-12 Specialist

Christina Pair has a passion for gifted learners and college and career readiness. Her professional experience includes tenure at the WAVE GT magnet and Clear Horizons Early College High School -- both in Clear Creek ISD. She has worked with curriculum development and vertical alignment for GT, pre-AP and AP. Pair enjoys collaborating with teachers through staff development and mentor programs. She believes educators must find or develop options for students who are able to sail through the high school curriculum rapidly.  Email
