Installs – There is a folder available to CITS for install purposes.  For the most part, CITS do not need to install software.  This should be done by the Techs.  However, there are times when software can/should be installed by the CITS to save time, etc.

Other install files - \\esc-ms4\Installs

If a staff member asks for an install CD for any of the following programs (if they are installed on their classroom or office computer), they can contact Janet Fake to get a copy of this.  We do not announce this across the district, otherwise we would have everyone asking for a disk all the time.

Disposing of Old Hardware/Computers

    • Contact the Director of Technology to determine the most appropriate course of action when removing computers from the building.
    • If Special Programs computers are involved, contact the Special Programs Secretary to determine what should be done with the computers.

In most cases, your procedure for disposing of old computers will be:

    Remove hard drives
Work order (using Help Desk in Eduphoria) for Techs to remove or...
If time permits, you remove the hard drives

    Maintenance removes hardware
Work order to maintenance to pick up old equipment

Be sure to keep useful spare items such as cords, cables, attachments, etc.

    Outlook Email

Set up Outlook on new or transferred staff computers
Set up Personal Folders for new or transferred staff computers
Make check-out equipment and/or lab information available to staff in Public Folder

      • List of items in Outlook Public Folders area
      • Consider adding labs and other items to this Public Folder area for easy checkout
      • Provide information to staff about what is available for checkout (send lists, announce at staff meeting, technology extravaganza demonstrating things that are available, etc.)

Some elementary campuses choose to have teachers sign up for lab time by using a chart in the lab instead of using Outlook Public Calendars
