TEACHER APPLICANTS:
Application Process for Classroom Teachers
Applying for a classroom teaching position with Pearland ISD is a two part process:
- Completing the online employment application
- Completing the Teacher Insight Interview
Only applications that have both the completed Teacher Insight Interview and online employment application are considered. Your application will remain inactive until both processes are successfully completed. If you have already completed the Certified Application, please return to your application and resubmit it. After your application goes through the check off process, the Teacher Insight link will appear. You will need to complete the screening before the application process is complete.
- TeacherInsight will require approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time.
- Specific instructions are contained within TeacherInsight.
- You should use Internet browsers with these versions or higher for best results: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5+, Netscape 6.1+ or AOL 9.0+. A minimum of 56k modem is required.
- Following completion of the assessment, Gallup will forward us the results.
- Administrators can then access the results as a part of the selection process for teaching positions.

Instructions for Completing the Application
- Technical Notes: If you do not have a copy of Netscape 4.7 or higher or Internet Explorer 5.0 the application process will not work. You can upgrade to a current browser here:

Also, please note that on a slow network connection, the large menu lists will take some time to download. It is anticipated that the application will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
- You will be asked to create a username and a unique password. Using your User I.D. and password, you will be able to return to your application to make changes, corrections or additions. Please retain your user name and password for your records.
- To complete the application process please provide the following:

A. Certified applicant
· Copy of official transcripts for each college attended.
· Copy of your valid teacher certificate or a letter from the college
verifying the date that the college did (or will) recommend you for
certification with the area(s) of specialization noted.
· Copy of deficiency plan or alternative certification eligibility to teach
if not certified, or a letter that confirms that you are in an alternative certification program.
· Copy of any passed TEXES or EXCET test results.
B. Classified applicant
· Copy of high school diploma or GED certificate
· Copy of college transcript (if applicable)
· Copies of special licenses or certifications
· Resume (optional)
- Certain fields have been identified as required fields (red arrow) and you will not be allowed to submit your application until these fields are complete.
- When you have completed a page, use the Continue button to move to the next page.
- It is recommended that you print a copy of your application after you submit the final page for your record. (Note: If you start the application process, but do not ‘Submit’ the application, the application information will expire after 5 days. You must Submit the application before HR can process and view it.)
- Once you have successfully submitted the application, it will immediately give you a message indicating that your application has been successfully submitted to Pearland ISD. The human resources staff and other administrators will review applications. The review will be based on need and anticipated vacancies.
- As a vacancy occurs, administrators have access to the applicant database and may consider applicants for an interview. The administrator exercises his/her discretion in determining which applicants to contact. The database is large and we try to interview as many applicants as possible; however, not all applicants are interviewed. Interviews are centered on vacancies and need. You will be contacted if you are selected for an interview. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT SUPERVISORS OR SCHOOLS.
- Applications are retained for two years from date of receipt. To remain in an active status you will need to update your application using your User I.D. and password. Once you update your application, it will remain active for one more year.
- If selected for employment, a recommendation to hire will be sent to human resources for processing. The applicant will be contacted to discuss hiring requirements, salary, new employee induction and reporting dates. If official documents required for employment are not in the applicant file, the applicant will be notified that their file is incomplete.
- If you accept employment with a different school district or employer, please notify the Human Resources Office so you are no longer available for consideration. We will then delete your file from circulation. Email address is esc-hr@pearlandisd.org

Most problems are a result of applicants not hitting the ‘submit’ button twice after they have reviewed and printed their online application.
