Substitute Teacher Orientation Dates:
All Substitute Teacher Orientations are currently full. Please monitor this webpage for future orientation dates.
Please only sign up for ONE orientation date. Signing up for multiple dates will slow your processing as well as result in removal fom subsequent dates. You must have 60 hrs. of college credits to be eligible to attend orientation.
All Substitute Orientation Classes are held in the Human Resource Services Office at 1928 N. Main, Pearland, 77581. Sign in, and identification processing will begin at 9:30 am. Orientation will be from 10:00 to 11:00am. No Children Please.

Steps to becoming a Pearland ISD Teacher Substitute:
Step 1 - Online Application: Complete the "Substitute" on-line application in Winocular by clicking on Departments>Human Resources>Application/Information>Application. You must attach transcripts and certifications (if applicable). While logged into Winocular, sign-up for the next available Substitute Orientation by clicking on Jobs>Classroom Teacher> Substitiutes>Teacher Orientations Dates. (Please sign up for only ONE orientation date)
Step 2 – Region IV Training: Visit this Region IV Training Link (Link) (Session # 1072255) to register and complete the Innovative Substitute Training e-learning course offered by Region IV. The cost is $25 and is required by Pearland ISD. Once you receive your Region IV Certificate of Completion, return to your online application and attach a copy of your certificate. For questions regarding this course, please contact Region IV directly. This training is not required for Texas Certified Teachers, or Student Teachers.
Step 3 – Substitute Employee Smartforms: After your application is reviewed, you will receive an email to complete required employment forms in your Winocular workspace. To locate the forms, log in to Winocular and click the link in the right-hand column that says "Substitute Teacher Forms", then click Submit to HR.
Step 4 - Fingerprinting: In accordance with Senate Bill 9, a person employed after January 1, 2008, must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment before starting work.
Step 5 – Day of Orientation: After completion of Steps 1-4, bring two unexpired acceptable I-9 documents to Substitute Orientation; click this link for examples: Acceptable I-9 Documents. If you have not completed Steps 1-4 or you do not have two unexpired acceptable documents, you will not be able to attend Substitute Orientation.
