Substitute Teacher Orientation Dates:
All Orientations for the 1st Semester have been filled for Substitute Teachers. Please visit this page for second semester orientation dates after January 15, 2015.
Location and Time: Human Resource Services Office at 1928 N. Main, Pearland, 77581. Sign in, and identification processing will begin at 9:30 a.m. Orientation will be from 10-11 a.m. No children please.

Steps to becoming a Pearland ISD Teacher Substitute:
Step 1 - Complete Online Application: Complete the "Substitute" on-line application in Winocular by clicking on Departments>Human Resources>Application/Information>Application. You must attach transcripts and certifications (if applicable) prior to attending orientation however, you may still register. Computers and a scanner are available for your use in the Employment Center located in Human Resource Services.
Step 2: Register for Orientation: (Only Substitute Teachers are required to attend Orientation). Once an orientation date is posted, please go to the main page on the Pearland ISD website to register. Start by clicking Jobs>Classroom Teacher>Substitutes>Teacher Orientation Dates. Once you have logged in and follow the instructions you will see (in green) You have successfully applied for this job posting. Your name will be automatically on the list for the orientation date you select. In addition, please follow the steps below to complete the process.
Step 3 – Substitite Teachers are required to complete the online Region IV Training: Visit this link https://www.escweb.net/tx_esc_04/catalog/session.aspx?session_id=1098089 The cost is $25. Attach a Certificate of Completion to your online application prior to orientation. For questions regarding this course, please contact Region IV directly. This training is not required for Texas Certified Teachers, or Student Teachers.
Step 4 – Substitute Teacher Smartforms: Once the class is full, you will receive an email to complete required electronic forms. At that time, you may log in to your Winocular application and click on the "Substitute Teacher Forms" on the right-hand side, once forms are complete, please click Submit to HR.
Step 5 - Fingerprinting: Everyone in the class will be uploaded to TEA. Once we are notified by TEA, you will receive an email with your fastpass to be printed, or notification that you do not need to be printed. The fastpass will have a contact number to find a location to be printed. You will be responsible for scheduling your fingerprinting appointment with the L-1 fingerprinting facility. Payment will be due at the time of your appointment. The facility will accept a check or money order in the amount of $47.45. NO CASH will be accepted. You must take your FAST PASS with you to your fingerprinting appointment along with a valid ID. Please bring your fingerprint receipt with you to your selected orientation date so we can verify this step has been completed.
In accordance with Senate Bill 9, a person employed after January 1, 2008, must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment before starting work.
