Second Grade Discipline Plan

Dear Parents,

I am delighted that your child is in my class this year.  We can all look forward to many exciting and rewarding experiences as the year progresses.  As I firmly believe that life-long success depends on self-discipline, I have developed a Classroom Discipline Plan that gives every student the opportunity to manage his/her own behavior.  Your child deserves the most positive educational environment possible for academic growth.  Therefore, the plan will be in effect at all times.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

CONDUCT

  1. Raise hand to speak
  2. Listen, pay attention, and follow directions
  3. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
  4. Respect others
  5. Do NOT disturb others in classroom, cafeteria, P.E., music, restroom, or library

WORK HABITS

  1. Turn in work on time
  2. Name on daily work
  3. Complete assignments
  4. Homework turned in
  5. Take Home folder returned
  6. Follow directions

To encourage students to follow the classroom rules, I reinforce appropriate behavior with good notes home, stickers, verbal praise, eating in the classroom, etc.

If a student chooses to break a rule, these are the consequences:

Blue Day:  Awesome Day (didn’t move clip)
Green Day:  Good Day (warning)
Yellow Day:  Time out 5 minutes(conduct mark)
Orange Day:  Time out 10 minutes (conduct mark)
Red Day:  Note or Phone call to parents and/or Office visit (conduct mark)

I have discussed the Classroom Discipline Plan with my students, but I would appreciate it if you would also review the plan with your child.  Then sign and return the form below.  I will be communicating with you frequently throughout the year to keep you aware of your child’s progress.  Please feel free to contact me at 281-412-1412 or comerm@pearlandisd.org.
