Board modifies 2013-14 student dress code

The Pearland Independent School District Board of Trustees made changes to the 2013-14 student dress code during the May 14 regular meeting.
Here is a recap of those changes for PK-12 grades:

Dawson and Pearland high schools' one-act play teams are claiming a double victory.
For the first time ever, both theatre troupes are advancing to the University Interscholastic League one-act play state competition in May.
DHS and PHS will host a free community performance and send-off for both one-act play teams on Thursday, May 16, 7 p.m. in the DHS auditorium (2050 Cullen Boulevard).

The Pearland High School Academic Decathlon team capped off a whirlwind competition season finishing fifth overall at the USAD national finals April 25-27 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Fifty-one teams from the U.S. and United Kingdom competed in the history, art, music and economics of Russia/Soviet Union -- the 2013 Academic Decathlon topic -- in addition to math, interview and speech contests.
