The Pearland ISD Livestock Show and Career Expo has a brand-new logo to match a brand-new vision.
The first-ever show of its kind in Pearland will give local students the opportunity to exhibit livestock, showcase their career talents and win scholarships and awards.
Dawson High School student William Carpenter designed the logo for the show, which will be Sept. 27-29 at the Richard L. Wagoner Agricultural Facility on Bailey Road.
During this kickoff year, the show will feature. . . .
• Lamb, goat, pig and cattle shows • Culinary contests for high school students • Art contests for students in grades 5-12 • Live and silent auctions • A petting zoo and a craft tent
The show will expand to include new career competition fields each year.
Proceeds from the event will sponsor three scholarships for top culinary, art and livestock exhibitors.
Businesses and community members may participate in volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, ranging from committee membership and judging to arena signs, buckles, banners, ribbons, awards, the auction dinner and decorations.
To learn more about volunteering or sponsoring, contact PHS agricultural science teacher Kelly Kraus at krausk@pearlandisd.org or the Pearland ISD Career and Technical Education Department at 281.485.3203.
