Orientation required for students in ACC dual credit

Pearland ISD students enrolling in Alvin Community College dual credit courses for the first time must attend one of five upcoming orientation sessions.

For the second year, ACC dual credit advisors are offering several opportunities for students to learn how to navigate the dual credit program and succeed in college.

If you are taking ACC dual credit classes in 2012-13, you must attend one of the following orientations:

• May 22: 6 p.m. at Dawson High School
• June 5: 2 p.m. at Manvel High School
• June 19: 9 a.m. at Pearland High School
• July 17: 9 a.m. at Alvin High School
• Aug. 2: 6 p.m. at Alvin Community College

Topics will include admissions, eligibility updates, testing, registration, payment, textbooks, college expectations, grading, transferring credits to other colleges and tips for college success.
