A. The standard format is phs-lastname for the userID, and first three letters of the last name + last 2 digits of the Winschool teacher number for the password. However, if you have not already had an account set up, please contact greend@pearlandisd.org
4.What is the best way to store downloaded United Streaming video files?
A. Video files tend to be large, so you can temporarily store them in your home folder, but once monthly those files will be automatically cleared out of home folders. A more permanent solution is to burn these files to CD.
5. What is the best way to deal with downloaded United Streaming video files?
A. Streaming video content takes up a large amount of the space each school has available to get out to the Internet (resource intensive). Teachers should only download or stream (to preview) media content if necessary from United Streaming during the peak of the school day (peak: 9AM - 2PM). Lessons using video clips should be prepared outside of the peak Internet usage for the school day and video clips should be downloaded rather than streamed.
