Bend, Galveston and Harris counties in percent of students
passing the TAAS test.

district for three consecutive years.
- Pearland
ISD has nine Texas Education Agency "Exemplary" campuses.
- Pearland
ISD decreased school taxes by 21.9 cents in 1999. This tax
decrease was the largest tax decrease of the eight school districts
in Brazoria County.
- Pearland
Jr. High East and Pearland Jr. High West are approaching student
capacity. Eighteen portable classrooms are now in use.
- By the time
the ninth grade center can be built, Pearland High School will
be approaching capacity.
- A new agriculture
facility will serve more than 500 students and provide arena
space for area-wide events.
- Approximately
one-half of the students living in the Silverlake area are
re-zoned to two other elementary schools (Challenger and Lawhon)
as Silverlake Elementary is at capacity.
- The bond
issue is structured for flexibility so that as the needs of
the district change, building use will not be adversely affected.
