Welcome to Language Arts/Social Studies.
CULTURAL LUNCHEON: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19TH AT 11:00 AM.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR STUDENT BRING THEIR FOOD ITEM TO
SCHOOL THAT DAY. THE FOOD ITEM MUST FEED ABOUT 10 TO
15 PEOPLE. DON'T FORGET TO LABEL YOUR FOOD ITEM WITH
AN INDEX CARD.
The classes are in need of INDEX CARDS. If you would like to donate some index cards either lined or unlined that would be great and your child will get extra credit and or award tickets. We use them every other week for vocabulary flashcards.
EXTRA CREDIT: Students can bring boxes of Kleenex, packages of glue sticks, and bottles of hand sanitizer for extra credit points to be added to bring up their grades. 10 points will be given for each item and a maximum of 100 extra points will be awarded.
My name is Mrs. Ellis and I have been a teacher for 20 years. I am married with two boys, ages 13 and 16. I love anything with "Bling". I love sparkles too! I am so excited for this school year to begin and look forward to meeting each and everyone of you.
I will be teaching 6th Grade Language Arts and 6th Grade Social Studies and I have very high expectations for all of my students. Every student must purchase a planner and bring it to every class, every day. The students are expected to write down the agenda from the board for every class in their planner. If the planner is lost, it must be replaced as soon as possible.
Raise my hand and wait my turn. Excessive noise, tapping, humming, etc., is unacceptable.
Everyone’s property is private. Ask permission before taking.
Speak in an appropriate tone of voice and acceptable volume. Use acceptable vocabulary.
People do not like to be hurt. Keep hands, feet, objects, and rude comments to myself. Stay in my seat.
Everyone comes to class prepared, in appropriate dress.
Clean up after myself. No gum, drinks, or candy in class.
Take responsibility in the hall. Walk in a quiet straight line.
Each student will be expected to maintain an interactive student notebook and keep it in their locker and bring it to class everyday. This notebook will be used in the class every day. Students can take their ISN home to study for their tests, but it will need to be returned the next school day.
Students will be expected to follow the CHAMP expectations and procedures.
The CHAMP expectations are as follows:
C: Conversation H: Help A: Activity M: Movement and P: Participation
Tutoring will be offered on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 to 8:30 and Thursday after school from 3:40 to 4:15 by appointment only. Arrangements must be made the day before with their parents and the teacher in order for the student to stay after school for tutoring. To view your child's grades, please use the skyward link below:
