Welcome to 6th Grade Science! Thanks so much to all of you that have donated lab supplies! I appreciate it so much! Here is a list of supplies that will be needed if you still wish to donate. Thanks again and our year is off to a wonderful start! :) Lab Supply wish list: (items that are still needed) Paper plates, paper towels, hand sanitizer, honey graham crackers, plastic cups, food coloring and Borax. I think that is all right now. I will update the supply wish list as certain labs come up if I need supplies. Thanks again for all of the donations!!! Mrs. Connie Ellis "The Bling Teacher" Science Rocks!!!! Hello, My name is Mrs. Ellis and I have been a teacher for 18 years. I am married with two boys, ages 11 and 14. I am so excited for this school year to begin and look forward to meeting each and everyone of you. I will be teaching 6th Grade Science and have very high expectations for all of my students. Every student must purchase a planner and bring it to every class, every day. The students are expected to write down the agenda from the board for every class in their planner. If the planner is lost, it must be replaced as soon as possible. CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS: -
Raise my hand and wait my turn. Excessive noise, tapping, humming, etc., is unacceptable. -
Everyone’s property is private. Ask permission before taking. -
Speak in an appropriate tone of voice and acceptable volume. Use acceptable vocabulary. -
People do not like to be hurt. Keep hands, feet, objects, and rude comments to myself. Stay in my seat. -
Everyone comes to class prepared, in appropriate dress. -
Clean up after myself. No gum, drinks, or candy in class. -
Take responsibility in the hall. Walk in a quiet straight line. In Science class, we are going to have so much fun learning. All students must read, sign, and return a Science Safety Contract in order for your student to participate in Science class and Science Labs. Each student will also be expected to maintain an interactive notebook and keep it in Science class and we will use it every day. This notebook will not leave the classroom, except for when students will need to take it home to study for thier tests. It will need to be returned the next school day.
