Vocabulary Packets

Vocabulary Packets are handed out on Monday.  The matching section on the back of the first page is due on Tuesday, and we will check the matching to make sure that the students have the correct answers.  The rest of the packet is due on Thursday, and the students will check the packet for correct answers.  The students will receive a conduct mark if the packet is not finished.  The VOCABULARY PACKET COUNTS AS A READING GRADE.  The students will have a VOCABULARY TEST ON FRIDAY, and this tests counts as a reading grade.

The students will also have spelling homework using the vocabulary words.  On Monday night, the students need to write the vocabulary words 5 times each.  On Tuesday, the students need to write the vocabulary word with the correct definition.  On Wednesday, the students make flashcards using index cards with the vocabulary word on one side of the card, and the definition on the other side of the card.  The students will have a SPELLING TEST ON FRIDAY.  The spelling homework and the spelling test counts as a language arts grade.

Please make sure that your child studies the definitions for the vocabulary words each week and the correct spelling of the vocabulary word for the spelling test each week.
