"Literature is the question minus the answer" ~ Roland Barthes

Hello and welcome!

Next week marks the begining of my fifteenth year as an English teacher at Pearland High School.  Navigating this continously expanding and evolving institution has involved challenges and inspiration. Throughout the many changes and transistions, however, one constant remains: my belief in the importance of the study of the English language and its many literary genres. As students of this remarkable academic discipline, we expose ourselves, via the complexity and diversity of our many readings, to ideas and experiences that transcend time and place, allowing us to develop awareness and empathy while building the skills to become critical thinkers and writers. I look forward to continuing this journey with my incoming seniors, and hope they will embrace the challenge of investing in reading and writing to further their personal and academic growth.
