8th Gr U. S. History

  • Welcome to 8th grade American History! This course will be challenging, exciting, fast-paced and above all else, thought provoking. I have high expectations of excellence from each of you and I know you will exceed them!

I feel that history is definitely NOT a boring collection of names, dates and places, but is the ultimate story of US – of who we are and where we are going. It is the story of what humans are capable of accomplishing and demolishing. It is the stuff of legend. It is OUR STORY!

We will employ a wide variety of educational methods and technology, including, but in no way limited to, primary source analysis, project based learning, oral communication, analytic/creative thinking and even some preparation for the STAAR test.

    COMMUNICATION VEHICLES
Canvas will be our classroom platform, there you will find all of your class notes, assignments, updates, resources, online textbook access etc.  Canvas allows for a two way communication between myself and the students.  It also allows students to answer questions of each other. On the left hand menu, please click on the Canvas link to access our classroom page.

In addition, I use Remind to send classroom updates, reminders, and important information right to your cell phone.  Please click on the Remind Instructions on the left for more information.
