Welcome to First Grade at Rustic Oak Elementary! This is my second year here at Rustic Oak and teaching First Grade. I had previously taught second grade for two years at Savannah Lakes Elementary, been a Math Interventionist for one year, and was a Special Education Paraprofessional at Wilder Elementary. I believe my experience teaching second grade has helped me to push my students because I know exactly where they need to be next year.

I have been happily married for 12 years to my husband Jessie and we have a son named Gavin who is nine years old in fith grade at Alexander Middle School. Before working in education I worked eight years in an orthopedic animal hospital which is where I acquired our family pets. We have a Boxer named Dori, a fat cat named P.K, and a bearded dragon named Toothless. When we aren’t at the baseball park my family enjoys working on home projects and running with our local chapter of Ainsley’s Angels. Ainsley’s Angels is a running group that pushes riders with disabilities in running events so they can participate. We have an awesome group of super fun runners and riders. I enjoy long distance running and am currently training for a 55 hour Ultra Relay race in December. I have recently been blessed with the opportunity to join and run on the Snowdrop Foundation team. The Snowdrop Foundation works closely with Texas Children's Hospital to provide assitance and bring awareness for Children with Childhood Cancers and their families. It is such an honor to be part of this team and support the children and families who are battling cancer.

I’m so excited about this school year and all the fun we have in store!
