Degrees and Certifications:

BA of English with Honors from the University of Texas

Lindy Goodwin

After 28 years of teaching, I am happy to be joining the Oiler family. I was born and raised in Lake Jackson, Texas, and attended Brazoswood High School. I graduated from the University of Texas with a BA with honors in English and a minor in Public Relations.  Prior to teaching, I worked as a public relations account manager for a PR agency.

I began my teaching career in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school district as an eighth grade teacher of English, humanities, and yearbook. After moving back to the Houston area, I took a teaching position with Clear Lake High School, where I have taught varying grade levels and courses of English for the past 18 years.  This year, I joined Pearland High School to be closer to my family as I have a son who attends PHS and a daughter who attends Alexander Middle School. In my free time, I enjoy reading, travelling, and enjoying the outdoors, particularly water sports.

I am excited for a positive school year! My educational goals are to ensure that each student grows as an analytical reader, effective writer, and critical thinker.  Please feel free to contact me at with any questions.
