Welcome! My name is John Zachary Baxter, but most people call me Zach.  I am super excited about teaching Money Matters and Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance this 2022-2023 school year.

Get to Know Your Teacher:

This is my second year teaching at Pearland High School and I love being an Oiler!

However, before becoming an Oiler, I attended the University of Houston where I graduated with a Bachelors in Finance and a Minor in Accounting.  After graduation, I worked for several different companies as a Financial Advisor, an Investment Banker and, most recently, as a Financial Analyst for KBR.  With KBR, I worked on the LOGCAP contract where I traveled to military bases in Kuwait, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Iraq to ensure that our projects with the US Army stayed on budget.  While working for KBR, I also attended Texas A&M – Texarkana where I graduated with my Masters of Business Administration (MBA).  After eight years of working in the corporate world, I decided that while my work was interesting, I wanted to spend the rest of my career investing in the lives of students.  Here at PHS, I teach Money Matters and Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance on the CTE team.

I was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Sugar Land.  In 2016, I moved to Pearland and really love the city.  I am married to my beautiful wife Erica and have a 4 year old daughter, Addison and another due September 16.  Her name will be Aubrey.   I love sports, the outdoors, and traveling with my family.
