Sablatura Clubs 2021-2022

  • Sablatura students are encouraged to connect with new friends and get involved in a club this year! Listen to announcements each morning for more information about each club. Some meet before  school and some meet after school. Some clubs involve competitions and others do not. Find one that is fun for you!

    Math Club (TMSCA)

     General Math: Mondays & Wednesdays in Room 214 with Mrs. Needler  7:45- 8:30 a.m 

    Calculator: Wednesdays in Room 210 with Ms. Hart 4:00-5:00 p.m.

     Number Sense: Thursdays in Room 217 with Mrs. Trinh 4:00-5:00 p.m.

    Math enthusiasts learn and refine skills in General Math, Number Sense, Calculator, and General Science. Competitions on Saturdays throughout the year.



    Quiz Bowl

    Quiz Bowl is a competition that prepares students for high school level Academic Decathlon. Students study together to prepare for General Trivia or Super Quiz.

    FPS students learn, practice and apply a six-step thinking, discussion & writing process competitively on 4 different topics each year. This year teams will research our water supply, building green, insects and mining.

    Students work in teams of 3 to build and program a robot to perform a series of tasks for this year’s TCEA Robotics competition.

    The purpose of Book club is to explore literature and to enjoy book discussions with each other.


    Destination Imagination (DI)

     Mondays 4:00-5:00

    DI is a creative problem-solving club. After selecting a challenge, students work in teams of 5-7 to prepare for the regional competition.  Each team must have an adult team manager (parent).

    PAWS will pick up litter around the school, help maintain the plants in the courtyard, and bring awareness to the school about shelter animals.

    ACT Pack

    Act Pack is a community/school service club. Students will help with Veteran's Day projects, donation drives for the Houston Ronald McDonald House, and senior citizen assisted living centers.

    Participants will meet in the gym then walk out to the track as a group to run, jog, or walk laps.  Students will track their laps with the scanning system and receive rewards provided by the Rising New York Road Runners.
