Mrs. Carrie Cummings
Hello! Welcome to my homepage!
I am originally from Austin, TX, and lived there from birth through my graduation from the University of Texas. I received my BA in English, and worked at the University of Texas Alumni Center for a few years. I actually began teaching as a substitute teacher at a DAEP program in Conroe. I discovered that I had a passion for teaching students who struggle in school, whether the struggle be academic, behavioral, or just circumstantial. I also discovered that teaching MATH was a passion, and that I could use my English degree to help figure out the best way to explain a math problem to a math-resistant student. I have now been teaching high school math for 12 years, and can't envision doing anything else. I came to Pearland ISD to teach at ALA, the discipline campus for Pearland ISD, and taught all of the math courses PISD offers for 7 years, and I am now a 2nd year Dawson Eagle!
I am married to my husband, Scott, who is a local pastor, and we have three children: Jake, who is 16 and a junior at Dawson, Ben, who is 13 and an 8th grader at Berry Miller, and Caroline, who is 9 and a 4th grader at Silverlake.
Tutorial Schedule: I am available for tutorials on Monday/Wednesday mornings, and Tuesday/Thursday afternoons. Please take advantage of these times as the best way to receive extra help/assistance from me.

Class Calendar and Files: I will be converting most of my online resources into Canvas this year (Canvas link). There will be a calendar with blank notes, notes' keys, blank homework assignments and test reviews, test review keys, and a host of other resources to access and be able to print. I may also assign a homework or give a quiz or other assessment via Canvas. Students will notified in advance when those are to occur.
Thank you for allowing me to work with your student, and please contact me with any questions or concerns. Communication between me, your student, and you, the parent/guardian, will ensure their success and that their needs are met!
