PHS Library Policies & Procedures
Library Checkout Procedures
- Students should have their student ID (which serves as their library card) for checkout.
- Students may check out up to 5 items at a time.
- The loan period for books is 3 weeks, with 1 renewal available.
- The loan period for calculators is 1 week. There are no renewals for calculators.
- Both libraries have a return box outside the library that students can use to return their items even when the libraries are closed.
- The libraries will not charge overdue fines this year.
- Students who have items more than 1 month overdue will not be able to checkout any new items from the library.
- Students are responsible for paying the replacement cost for any lost or damaged library materials.
- Items more than one month overdue will be entered into Skyward fees.
Visiting the Library
- Library Hours are 6:55am – 2:55pm for both the Bullard and Searcy Libraries.
- Students may use both libraries, and they may return items checked out from one PHS library to the other PHS library.
- The library will close when the librarian is absent, in a meeting, or at lunch.
- Students may visit the libraries before school, during lunch, and after school (during regular library hours).
- Students are expected to sign in when they enter the library.
- During class time, students must have a pass from their teacher to visit the library.
- Scheduled classes have priority in the library.
- Students may have drinks (with a lid) and small snacks in the library, provided that they are quietly reading or working. No lunch trays in the libraries.
