• Would you like to refer your student for G/T services? Advanced Academics will accept Referrals for G/T Services, for current K-12 Pearland ISD students, during the following time frame:

    SEPTEMBER 1 - 30, 2022

How can I refer my student?

Complete and submit the 2023 Referral for G/T Services in Skyward. The form will be available on September 1, 2022 through September 30, 2022. Late referrals will not be accepted for students who are enrolled prior to September 30, 2022. Students who enroll in Pearland ISD after the September 30, 2022 referral deadline should contact Advanced Academics about referring for G/T services.

    Who can refer a student?

Parents, family members, community members, & Pearland ISD teachers and staff may refer a student for G/T services. If you do not have Skyward access for the student you would like to refer, please contact the student’s grade level Specialist with Advanced Academics for assistance.

Can you please explain the assessment process?

A complete review of student data will begin in the fall. Data reviewed may include, but is not limited to, benchmarks, STAAR, previous ability or achievement assessment scores, qualitative data, or district screener data. If it is determined formal ability and/or achievement testing is required, the grade level specialist will schedule this. Formal assessment may take place at the ESC or designated campus on Saturdays or outside the instructional day. If so, parents will receive an email indicating their assigned assessment date/time. Parents are responsible for transportation to/from testing. For information specific to your student’s grade level, please contact the appropriate grade level specialist. The process of data review and assessment begins in October and continues through March.

When will I receive information on placement decisions?

Results will be emailed to parents/guardians by the following dates:

    • Kindergarten – 2nd Grade: March 1, 2023
    • 3rd - 12th Grades: December 16, 2022
