Volunteers / Chaperones
Due to COVID-19 safety measures, Pearland ISD is not allowing campus visitors during the fall 2020 semester. However, we encourage all volunteers and chaperones to take this opportunity to complete or update your online application, so that when we are able to allow visitors back on campus, applications will be submitted for background checks to be processed at that time.
Pearland ISD invites you to become a volunteer.
According to Texas Education Code, Section 22.083, Pearland ISD may obtain criminal history record information on an individual who has indicated, in writing, an intention to serve as a volunteer.
Completion of the online volunteer registration qualifies as written intent to serve as a volunteer at a designated Pearland ISD campus and a release to conduct a criminal background information check. Criminal information obtained is confidential and used only for ensuring student safety.
Steps to Become a Pearland ISD Volunteer:
- Complete an online application with our NEW Frontline Recruit and Hire applicant-tracking system. Select the job opening for Volunteers 2019-2020, indicating the campus/campuses in which you plan to volunteer. If you are applying only as a Rise Mentor, you may indicate so in lieu of selecting a campus.
- The review process could take up to 5-7 business days. Please act in a timely manner if you plan to attend an event on a certain date.
- Once we approve your online application, your name will appear on the campus list you have designated. If necessary, you may contact the campus secretary to confirm your volunteer status.
- Volunteers must re-apply each school year.
