How can I request a student iPad?
To request a device for an on campus student, please contact the campus.
To request a device for a remote learner, please contact the Pearland ISD Technology department at
713-487-1800 or e-mail helpdesk@pearlandisd.org. -
What is the iPad's generation?
7th Generation.
Please peruse the device specifications of the student iPad.

Do I need an Apple ID?
No.
All apps, updates, and data are managed by Pearland ISD. There is no need for families to have an Apple ID attached to the district managed iPad.

Can I install apps to my student's iPad?
No.
All apps on the district issued iPads are managed by District Technology staff.
You will not be able to use your own Apple ID to sign into the App Store to install any apps.

How do I clean the iPad?
The iPad should be cleaned using a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth.
Only non-toxic liquids that are free of ammonia, alcohol, and dyes should be used in conjunction with the microfiber cloth.

What stylus is compatible with the iPad?
The iPad does not come with a stylus.
Using a stylus is a personal preference. Some teachers may request students learn to use a stylus instead of writing with their fingers. Unless specified by the teacher, we suggest waiting until students get a feel for how comfortable they are writing on the iPad, so they can decide what works best for their needs.
There are low-cost options that are compatible with the iPad.

Who do I contact to reset the password to my student's iPad?
To request that the iPad's password be reset, please contact the Pearland ISD Technology department at 713-487-1800 or enter a Technical Support Ticket.
You will need the iPad's Serial Number.

Is there insurance I can purchase for the iPad?
Insurance is not needed for the iPads because they are covered by AppleCare+ through September 14, 2024.

How do I use AppleCare+?
Since the AppleCare+ coverage is connected to the device’s serial number, the device can be serviced inside any Apple Store.
However, Pearland ISD Technology would be more than happy to coordinate the repair of the device directly with Apple, on behalf of the user.
This method would also allow Technology Staff to swap out the iPad with one that’s working while the damaged iPad is being repaired.
