Retiring can be a simple process if you plan ahead!
Visit: Planning for Retirement on the TRS website for information on when to begin the retirement process and what options are available for you.
If you are planning to retire, you will need to contact the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) 6 months prior to your anticipated retirement date. This will allow yourself enough time to complete and submit all required forms.
After contacting TRS, you should receive a retirement packet with the forms you need to select your retirement date and your retirement payment plan.
