At-level vs. Advanced

-To register your student for at-level classes, register them for regular classes.

-To have your child considered for advanced classes, register them for advanced.

Below are the academic suggestions/requirements for advanced classes

• Have a minimum of a 90 average in Math, Reading and Language Arts for the 2022-2023 school year.
• Masters on the STAAR math and reading tests for the 2022-2023 school year.
• Students in the advanced pathway will be in Advanced Mathematics, Advanced Reading and Language Arts, Advanced Science and Advanced Social Studies.
• Refer to the Pearland ISD Math MS Course Sequencing Recommended Pathways and FAQs.

At-level vs. Advanced

-If your student was in at-level classes this year and you want them considered for advanced, contact your child's teacher before completing the registration form. 

-If you plan to keep your student in at-level classes, you will register them for regular.

Electives

-Your student can choose their elective for 6th grade. They will have to select their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice. If this section of the registration form is not completed correctly, we will select their elective.                              

       Example:  1 – Choir, 2 – Band, 3 – Art.

-We cannot guarantee your student will get their first choice elective.
