Meet the Teacher

Hello Life Skills Students, Parents, and Guardians, My name is Michael Chiappetta, or as my students and athletes refer to me, "Coach C-." I've been a Life Skills Teacher and Special Olympics Basketball Coach for the past 16 years! Before I became a teacher, I was a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Division 1 and NFL levels. I was the Head Baseball Strength and Conditioning Coach and the Associate Football Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Houston back in the late 90's and early 2000's. I also had the opportunity to work for the New York Jets, on a paid NFL Internship, during Training Camp in 2000. Coaching and Teaching has blessed me to be able to live in various states, including Florida and Tennessee. I attended Ranger College on a Baseball scholarship, graduated from U of H - Clear Lake with a B.S. in Science, and completed 1/2 of my Master's Degree in Education at the University of Houston. In my personal life, I've been married to my beautiful wife Shelly, for the past 22 years. She is an amazing 3rd grade teacher at Shadycrest Elementary. We have two incredible boys, Jake (18) who is 3rd degree black belt in Karate and starting his first semester of college and Brock (16) who is a 10th grader here at PHS and is on the Baseball team.
