Students from the Pearland FFA recently participated at the Brazoria County Fair. Alexander Middle School fifth grader Kasen Douglas won Grand Champion Market Broiler, Carter Cameron won Reserve Champion Market Broiler and Adalynn Weber won Swine Intermediate Showmanship Champion. Additionally, Turner College and Career High School Ag Mechanics team won Grand Champion Project overall.
Pearland High School’s “Pride of Pearland” Marching Band placed seventh as they represented Pearland Independent School District for the first time in the Bands of America Grand National Championships held on November 9-1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. PHS’s marching band performed a production titled “Illumination”.
Sixty-three students from Pearland and Dawson high schools recently secured spots in the all-region choir during the Texas Music Educators Association Region 19 auditions.
Pearland High School’s and Dawson High School’s marching bands are advancing to the University Interscholastic League 6A State Marching Band Contest, after placing first and fourth place, respectively, in the area competition.
This Friday, October 20, Pearland ISD will be conducting a Reunification drill using a small number of students and staff from Rogers Middle School only. The Reunification drill will not be an active shooter drill and we anticipate this to be a calm experience for the participating students, staff and volunteering parents.
