    PTA Needs your Help!

    It's a new year! Sometimes, new school years bring with them new challenges, but they also bring new opportunities. The Challenger Elementary PTA needs volunteers to fill some of the open chair positions on our Executive Board.  Read below to see if any of these may be a good fit for you. We are looking for dedicated people who share our mission of making every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and the community to advocate for all children.

    • Communications Chair - Are you Social Media savvy? This person will post on our Facebook page, keep up our bulletin board in the school next to the PTA room, and relay PTA/community newsletter information.
    • Hospitality Chair - Are you good at organizing potlucks and/or catered events? This person organizes the special teacher/staff luncheons, snacks, meeting refreshments, and other goodies we provide for our wonderul teachers and staff throughout the year.

    • Retail Parnters Chair- This person sets up our "Spirit Nights" - dining at local restaurants who give back a percentage of the proceeds. They also print flyers, drop them off in teacher boxes, and keep up with our Kroger, Randall's and AmazonSmile programs.

    • Arts in Education Chair - This person organizes 1 - 2 fine arts programs that come to the school to perform. They also handle the "Reflections" contest and submits entries to our Council PTA. 

    • Santa Shop Chair - This person organizes our annual Santa Shop at the school. They would place merchanise ordres, set up, schedule volunteers, schedule classes to rotate in and out, and "man" the shop during that week.

    • S.T.E.P. Chair - This is a tutoring program that supplements struggling 1st grade readers. This person requests 1st grade identified student lists, trains and matches volunteers one-on-one with student for tutoring.
    • Fundraising Chair - Are you good at this? We need you! This person organizes our fundraisers: They are our point of contact with fundraising companies. They secure dates, organize incentives and make sure incentives are delivered.

    • Enviromental Chair - Do you love gardening? Would you like to instill a love for gardening in our students? We have a garden! This person organizes and plans our "Sunrise Garden Club", which meets once a month. You are welcome yo bring your own ideas to this position!
