Dual Language Program

  • Students In its effort to provide world-class educational opportunities, Pearland ISD has a Dual Language Program at the four elementary bilingual campuses.

During the 2018-19 school year, Carleston, Cockrell, Lawhon, and Magnolia elementary schools will offer the program in bilingual kindergarten, first, second, third and fourth grade classrooms.

Jamison middle school will offer the program in bilingual fifth and sixth grade classrooms.

The program allows equal numbers of native English and Spanish speakers at these five campuses to learn both languages side by side in the classroom. Goals of the program include language proficiency in both English and Spanish, high academic achievement and cross-cultural understanding.

Note: The only students eligible to participate in the Dual Language Program are those zoned to Carleston, Cockrell, Lawhon and Magnolia elementary schools.
