Mrs. Naletta Galbraith
Welcome to Mrs. Galbraith's STARS. This is my 9th year teaching at Cockrell Elementary and my 29th in education! I am looking forward to another great year. In my class we work hard to be SAFE, RESPECTFUL, and RESPONSIBLE. We also make sure that we are KIND. That's why we are called STARS -- Safe, Trustworthy (responsible, but I needed a T word), Always kind, Respectful Students.
My favorite subject is Science. I have some great experiments planned for this year. I especially like natural science so when it comes to bugs I'm your girl! We will have lots of different insects in our room throughout the year - ladybugs, praying mantis, butterflies...
I also love to read. This summer my family participated in the summer reading program through our Pearland library. I had a lot of fun reading the Kane series books by Rick Riordan. We will have some fun reading challenges in our class this year.
Don't think I have forgotten math. I do love it too, especially problem solving. In second grade, we will be telling time to the minute and counting groups of coins, among other things. We will have a bunch of fun games to play while practicing.
Even in all the heat we have, I love to be outside. My family owns several kayaks and we love to go camping. I am a lifetime member of Girl Scouts USA. Both my children are scouts. My daughter is in her second year as a Cadette. She is looking forward to beginning her Silver Award project. My son is a Second Class scout working towards First Class and striving to be an Eagle Scout.
I can't wait to meet all my new STARS. This will be a great year. My STARS shine bright!
