PEARLAND SCHOOL NURSE INFORMATION
Pearland school nurses are proud to be a part of your child’s education. Success in school is directly related to the good health and emotional well-being of each student. Responsibility for the care of children lies primarily with parents. The nurses in PISD are here to assist and support parent’s efforts to maintain good health in their children. School nurses do not diagnose, as RN’s we assess and make recommendations based on that assessment. We are always happy to have you call with questions or concerns about your child’s health, or stop in and visit! It is our goal to educate the child beginning in elementary school to take control of their own health care management, so they can grow up strong and independent.
I am starting my 21st year here at Lawhon Elementary as the school nurse, after leaving UTMB High Risk OBG/Pediatrics. I have other roles as I am also a Police Officer for the City of Brookside Village and I am a Superving Nurse fulltime on the weekends at a skilled nursing unit here in Pearland. I have lived in Pearland all my life, my family has been here over 100 years. I attended C.J. Harris, PJH East and graduated from PHS in 1980. I have 2 older daughters that graduated from PHS in 2002 and 2005, who also reside here in Pearland. With the 4th generation attending the Pearland schools I know this is where I will remain.
I enjoy being the school nurse at Lawhon and helping the students and staff stay safe and healthy. I encourage community support so that our students can have an opportunity for a well rounded education.
