Consequences issued by the office:
1st tardy – verbal warning
2nd tardy – verbal conference with front office
3rd tardy – lunch detention- 1 day
4th tardy – lunch detention- 2 days
5th tardy – after school detention- 1 hour
6th tardy – after school detention- 2 hours
7th tardy + - 1-3 days of ISS
If you fail to turn in a completed assignment or homework, you will be placed in ZAP daily until the assignment is complete. The following consequences for each additional missing assignment are listed below and will be enforced. ZAP starts over each 9 weeks.
1st assignment - Placement in ZAP daily until the assignment is complete, parents contacted
2nd assignment - Placement in ZAP daily until the assignment is complete, parents contacted, tutorials required
3rd assignment - 1 hour after-school detention, parents contacted by teacher
4th assignment - 2 hour after-school detention, parents contacted by teacher, student conference with teachers
5th assignment - Office Referral, 1 day ISS, parents contacted by Assistant Principal
6th assignment - Office Referral, 2 days ISS, parents contacted by Assistant Principal
*Students working on the same assignment during lunch time for 3 days will be issued an after school detention.
1st project - 1 hour after-school detention, parents contacted by teacher
2nd project - 2 hour detention, parents contacted by teacher
3rd project - Office Referral, 1 day ISS, parents contacted by teacher and Assistant Principal
*Students with projects not turned in within three days of the due date will be assigned a day of ISS to complete the project.
A student receiving a failing grade on a classroom assignment or a test with scores of 69 or below, has the opportunity to make corrections to earn a grade of up to a 70. The student must attend tutorials to make corrections or retake a test. If a student fails to attend tutorials to make corrections or retake a test, the grade will stand. The student has up to 3 days from the time the assignment is handed back to him/her to make corrections or retake the test in a tutorial session. This guideline does not include projects, semester or final exams, or district benchmarks.
CONSEQUENCES for unacceptable and inappropriate behavior
In addition to individual classroom rules, the rules and regulations identified in the PISD Parent-Student Handbook apply in school as well as to all school related functions. Vandalism to school property, particularly books, tables, and desks will not be tolerated. It is the responsibility of each student to report any such incident.
1st offense: Warning given
2nd offense: Loss of privileges
3rd offense: 30 min Teacher Detention and phone call to parent/guardian
4th offense: 30 minute Lunch Detention and parent/guardian and teacher conference
5th offense: 1 hour after school Detention and parent/guardian contact
6th offense: 2 hour after school Detention and parent/guardian contact
7th offense: Office Referral
8th offense: ISS
B.Y.O.D. (Bring Your Own Device)
Ø Students will need to charge their devices before bringing them in school
Ø Students must connect to the campus WiFi – pearlandisd- using their user ID #.
Ø Logging on to media sites and texting is not allowed.
Ø Students are not permitted to use devices for taking pictures or recording videos unless specifically directed and supervised by a teacher.
Ø Students will need to place their phone on the docking stations when not in use.
Ø Students may look on with another student while using devices but only the owner should be operating the device.
Ø Students are responsible for devices brought to school as the school will not be responsible for lost/stolen/damaged property.
Ø If guidelines are not followed, alternate assignments will be provided for students that do not include B.Y.O.D. and the device will be confiscated. Parents will need to pick up device from the front office.
