District Profile
Through all the years of growth in Pearland, the school district has consistently been the heart of the town. The first school, built in 1893, was a one-room wood structure with a wood-burning stove and 23 students taught by Miss Nannie Rogers. More than a century later, the district has 23 campuses, 1,352 teachers and more than 21,000 students.

Curriculum
The comprehensive academic program in grades K-12 provides students the opportunity to reach their full potential. Special Programs, bilingual/ESL, Gifted and Talented and pre-K services are offered to students who qualify.
At the secondary level (grades 7-12), the PAP/AP programs serve as the GT program in addition to a GT Academy option for students in grades 5-8. With the State Board of Education-approved Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), the entire K-12 curriculum has real-life application and integrates technology. The district also has an extensive Career and Technical Education program that makes connections with the business community.
Food Service
Food Service serves more than 12,500 nutritious breakfasts and lunches per day. Pearland ISD offers free and reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Parents may pre-pay for meals and review purchases through www.SchoolCafe.com.

Free and reduced meal applications are accessible online. Eligibility decisions are based on federally-established income and household size guidelines without regard to race, sex, color, national origin, age or disability.

Transportation
School bus transportation is provided free of charge to students who live two-or-more miles from their school of attendance.
Transportation may be available in some areas for a fee for those students living less than two miles from their school of attendance.

$640/year for 1 child in the household
$100/year additional for the 2nd child in the household
$100/year additional for the 3rd child in the household
(Fees are capped at $840/year per household)
*Transportation may be available at a discounted rate for students who qualify for free or reduced meals through the Food Services department.
*For students who do not qualify for free or reduced meals, transportation fees cannot be reduced or waived. Participation in the fee-based bus service program requires payment for the service and services can be discontinued for failure to pay as required.
