  • Twenty Pearland ISD students make TMEA all-state ensembles

    Pearland Independent School District recently celebrated students earning places in Texas Music Educators Association all-state performing groups.

  • District proudly represented by Dawson and Pearland High School Marching Bands

    Pearland and Dawson high schools represented Pearland ISD in the UIL State Marching Band Competition on December 15 in San Antonio. The bands qualified to advance to the State contest after competing against more than 20 other schools and placing 1st and 2nd respectively at the UIL Area Marching Contest on December 5.

  • Eight DHS students qualify for National Thespian Festival

    Eight Glenda Dawson High School theatre students are looking forward to national spotlight after earning high scores in the Texas Thespian State Festival. Qualifying students will compete at the International Thespian Festival to be held in the summer of 2021.

  • DHS student honored with Governor’s Volunteer Award

    Dawson High School senior Amar Sehgal recently received the Texas 2020 Governor’s Volunteer Award in the category “First Lady’s Rising Star Award” for an initiative titled “The Three Mask-eteers”. The award honors the exemplary service of individuals, groups and organizations that have made a significant and measurable contribution to Texas communities through service and volunteering in the past year.

  • District High School Theatre productions go virtual

    Pearland and Dawson high schools are safely moving forward with their annual fall productions even when faced with the pandemic. Their solution was bold and innovative, with students working on social-distanced video productions to be streamed on-demand online. PHS’s Pearland Theatre presents an adaptation of the Greek tragedy, “Medea” and DHS’s Ovation Theatre presents a new adaptation of Shakespeare's classic, “Hamlet”.
