Congratulations to Magnolia Elementary for donating 5000 books to KHOU 11's Turn the Page Literacy Initiative! As an incentive to the school who donated the most books, your proud superintendent allowed students to pie him in the face.

Nineteen Pearland ISD artists were recently selected to advance in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo art program competition. Their artwork is moving on to the next round of judging known as Grand Prix, in which 72 pieces of art will be chosen by judges to be auctioned for student awards and the rodeo’s educational fund. Additionally, one student was awarded a gold medal in the Special Needs category. |

Pearland ISD received an A rating according to Niche ratings and ranked fourth in the Houston metro area for excellent academics and student culture in the 2024 Niche ratings.

Pearland ISD Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) will be included on the November ballot. Passage of Pearland ISD’s VATRE would decrease the total tax rate by 16.54 cents, with a total rate of $1.1373, generating $11.2 million in additional funds for Pearland ISD, supporting increased compensation to district’s staff, improving district infrastructure, supporting high-quality student programs and helping reduce Pearland ISD’s budget deficit.

On Monday, August 21, the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to decrease the school tax rate, the lowest overall district tax rate in at least 30 years. The vote triggered a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE), that, if approved, would generate additional funds from the state while also lowering the 2023-24 property tax rate by 16.54 cents.

“District Talk - Parent Forums” are back! Hear an overview of the district, discuss broad topics and share parent concerns and ideas. Pearland ISD's Proud Superintendent, Larry Berger, will host each event at the ESC during the month of April.

Yee-haw! Local cowpokes are invited to saddle up for Pearland ISD’s 2023 Rodeo Art Exhibit showcasing Western-themed artwork done by students in grades K-12. The exhibit will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 5-7 p.m. at the Education Support Center, 1928 N. Main.

Ring in the holidays with us! Pearland ISD campuses will host numerous festive programs and concerts this month celebrating the holiday season.

Pearland ISD will be holding “District Talk - Parent Forum” hosted by Pearland ISD Superintendent Larry Berger during the month of October.
The goal of the meetings is to present an overview of the district and discuss broad topics, parent concerns and ideas. Families are encouraged to submit their questions online prior to attending the meetings.
