Curriculum
Curriculum snapshots and resources that provide targeted TEKS-focused instructional lessons
Weekly department meetings with teachers focusing on upcoming curriculum lessons and instructional strategies
Maintain Forethought, including online curriculum resources, scope and sequence and model lessons
Facilitate implementation of TEKS (learning standards)
Assessments
Disaggregate and analyze data to provide reports for teachers on student progress
Analyze test questions to facilitate discussion with teachers on instructional strategies for each state required TEKS and objective
Collaborate with campus staff to create intervention plans
The Testing Department supports and coordinates all student assessments (benchmarks, simulations, and state assessments), data analysis, TEA requirements and training
Teacher Coaching & Mentoring
Specialists visit classrooms and provide model lessons for new teachers, teachers new to Pearland ISD and teachers with specific student needs.
Specialists conduct walkthroughs and provide meaningful feedback on instructional practices.
Collaborate with teachers on implementation of best-teaching practices to improve student performance
District Initiatives
Specialists coordinate and/or develop several core content-area district initiatives each year.
