Pearland ISD grades K-12 science classes foster science experiences for all students, promote evidence-based decisions, develop critically thinking individuals and cultivate life-long curiosity.

Curriculum

Pearland ISD provides quality science curriculum that connects science to everyday life, supports and encourages scientific experiences in natural environments and addresses students' individual needs. The instruction strives to balance lab experiences, data analysis, communication of conclusions and development of scientific vocabulary. Pearland ISD's science curriculum is aligned to the state-mandated curriculum found in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Science.

Assessment

Students are formally tested in science through locally developed benchmark tests as well as the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) for grades 5 and 8 and biology.
