Field Experience

Field Experience (FE) opportunities are provided for UHCL field experience students, UH Pre-Teaching or Developing Teaching students, Special Program interns, externs, graduate students, LEND volunteers, UH Athletic interns (MAT students), nursing students, or counseling interns. 

Placement

Step 1: University Professors or the School of Education office staff communicate by email with Roxana Rigdon to request FE placement in Pearland ISD. 

Step 2: Placement requests must include a list of student names, content & grade level preference, and a date range for students to participate. Human Resources will select the campus. Placement requests must be made three weeks before students begin on campus.

Step 3: Students complete an online application for the position of Observers/Field Experience 2025-2026, indicating the position preference of “Student Observer” (state background check will be processed). 

Step 4: Once approved, professors, campus administrators, and administrative assistants will receive communication from Roxana Rigdon with all placement details and a list of student names and dates of participation on campus.
