Field Experience

(professor makes request on behalf of a group of students enrolled in their course)

Field Experience opportunities are provided for universities who have contract agreements with Pearland ISD. The directions below are only for professors who are making a field experience request on behalf of their students through the School of Education office.

Placement:

Step 1: Professors complete a “Field Experience Request Form”  with their university School of Education office, who emails it to  Roxana Rigdon to request placement in Pearland ISD. 

Step 2: University placement requests must include a list of student names, content & grade level preference, a date range for students to participate. Human Resources will select the campus. Placement request must be made two weeks prior to the first scheduled day for students begin on campus.

Step 3: : University students complete an online application for the position of  Observers/Field Experience 2024-2025 indicating the position preference of “Student Observer” (state background check will be processed). 

Step 4: Once approved, professors, campus administrators, and administrative assistants will receive communication from Roxana Rigdon with all placement details and a list of student names.

Step 5: Professors are responsible for communicating with campus administrators by email to pair their students with volunteer teachers and to seek approval of dates and times on campus.
