General Pay Increase

A General Pay Increase (GPI) is an approved pay increase applied to all employees within each pay grade equally. In school districts, the GPI is calculated for each employee by applying the percent increase approved by the Board to the midpoint or control point of each employee's pay range. 

Below are examples of the GPI for the Instructional Support pay grades. IS201 GPI can be calculated hourly or annually:

• Hourly rate increase is calculated by multiplying the midpoint hourly rate of $14.94 by the 2% Board approved increase 
• Annual increase is calculated by multiplying the annual salary of $20,726 by the 2% Board approved
