Yes, if your child wants to attend a school your home is not zoned to attend, you must apply annually for a transfer. Your child will not receive class placement/schedule in the desired school until after you have an approved transfer. Do not wait until August to apply for a transfer.

No, without an approved transfer to that school, a Skyward enrollment to the non-zoned campus will be rejected. Skyward and the student transfer program are independent entities, not linked in any way.

You must apply for a transfer in the online Student Transfer Program and receive approval for a transfer BEFORE enrolling/registering in Skyward. 

No, returning transfer students should access their same account each year to submit an application.

Yes. Transfers are a privilege, not a right. If your child does not maintain the eligibility requirements for transfer students, the student or parent creates a disruption of school operation, or other relevant reasons as determined by Pearland ISD, a transfer may be revoked at any time. 

No. It is a violation of UIL rules to transfer for these purposes. Applications for UIL competition purposes will be rejected.  

No. Pearland ISD accepts transfers for students from outside the district who are eligible for first grade or higher. We have no way to estimate the size of our incoming classes under first grade. A large class of Pre-K or kindergarten classes may cause a need to hire more staff.  

If a student is a current transfer student at a closed campus or is a current transfer student in the feeder pattern of a closed campus, they may continue at the current campus or in that feeder pattern if they receive an approved transfer. This could change in the future if the closed campuses receive more transfer students than they can accommodate.  

For a current transfer student who wants to continue on transfer at the same campus, they will select “previous campus attended”  for the campus selection. In the note/comment section you will input the name of the campus you are selecting.  

For a current transfer student who wants to continue on transfer and roll over to the feeder pattern closed campus, you will select “feeder pattern transfer” for the campus selection to continue in the feeder pattern. Input a note/comment indicating the campus you want . The processor will process the application according to your comment.
