Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Mr. Harmon. This is my 6th year teaching Career and Technical Education courses at Pearland High School. Prior to teaching I served six years in the United States Air Force as a C-130 Loadmaster. After the USAF I completed my Bachelors and Master’s degrees in geology at TCU and subsequently a Masters of Divinity at Liberty University. In addition to teaching I am a proud member of the Texas Army National Guard.
I'm very passionate about teaching my students not only the principles of welding, but also about character, creativity, and careers (our PHS Welding motto). My students will have the opportunity to become certified welders even their first year. As they progress they can obtain more challenging welding certifications (out of position, extra processes, aluminum, etc.) Additionally as of this year I will be offering Drone FAA part 107 certification as an extracariccular activity.
My wife and I are excited to be in Pearland and to raise our three young children in Oiler nation. I am really looking forward to another wonderful school year and am eager to meet all of my students and welcome everyone back!
