Ms. Michele Hyden
Michele Hyden is a 24-year veteran teacher and coach at Pearland High School. She has spent time in the classroom as an instructor in Economics, Accounting, Business, and special education. Coach Hyden, as she is known to her students and peers, is currently teaching Economics and is a teaching assistant in the dual enrollment program. She is a Canvas Ambassador at PHS and is a member of both the TGCA and the NFCA professional organizations.
Hyden has been coaching 28 years, including four years at the Division I collegiate level and 22 years at the high school level. The Pearland High School Lady Oilers are one of the most successful programs in the state of Texas. During her tenure as the Associate and Co-Head Coach, the Lady Oilers have made four appearances at the State Softall Tournament, winning the 5A State Championship in 2010, earning the Runner-up spot in 2009 and 2016, and taking home bronze in 2011.
Coach Hyden was an All-State softball player for Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas and was the Salutatorian of her graduating class. Coach Hyden holds three degrees, having graduated Cum Laude from Centenary College of Louisiana with a B.S. degree in Accounting and Business and a B.A. degree in Economics. She was a four-year letter winner in both volleyball and softball at Centenary. She was honored as the 1994 NCAA (Division I) Woman of the Year in the state of Louisiana in softball.
